Nadine Alexander takes the title of Player of the Week as she earned three singles and a pair of doubles victories. Brooklyn (9-4; 7-1 CUNYAC) beat Baruch 8-1, St. Joseph’s of Brooklyn 9-0 and Lehman 5-4.
At Baruch, Alexander won a tough #3 singles battle, beating Shalanda Graham 7-5, 7-6 (7-4). Against St. Joe’s, she stepped up to the #1 singles position and took a 10-1 decision. At Lehman, Alexander earned wins in both singles and doubles play to lead the Bridges to a tough 5-4 win. Doubles play was first, and she teamed with Erika Gil and prevailed 9-8 (8-6), after trailing 7-2. The match was the halted by darkness with the score tied, 4-4, with only Alexander’s singles match to conclude. The match was picked up a day later in the second set, and Alexander beat Lehman’s Gabriela Harewood 6-3, 7-5.
