Baruch College ran its win streak to six games with three non-conference wins last week, defeating Rutgers-Newark in four, New Jersey City University in four, and Polytechnic in five. Leading the Bearcats (14-4; 4-1 CUNYAC) is this week’s Player of the Week, Christina Pierre.

The junior from the Bronx had an exceptional week, hitting .478 with four solo blocks and six block assists.

At Rutgers-Newark, Pierre led the attack with 16 kills on 22 attempts, a whopping .682 percentage. At NJCU, once again she led the charge, this time with 18 kills.

At Polytech, Baruch took the first two games, then Poly responded by winning the next two. In the deciding game, Baruch took the 15-12 win to take the match. Pierre was instrumental, with 14 kills, three solo blocks and a pair of block assists. With the win, Baruch became the first CUNY Athletic Conference team to beat Poly this season. Poly had been 8-0 against the Conference.

Baruch has now won its last six games, and twelve of the last thirteen.
