Brian Wright earns the Brine® Rookie of the Week award as he helped the Baruch Bearcats to a pair of wins in four games last week. Baruch lost 6-0 to Manhattanville, beat York and Staten Island by identical 1-0 scores, then lost to St. John’s of Minnesota 4-2.
Wright earns the award for his efforts in the two CUNY Athletic Conference games, as he scored the game winning goal in the 1-0 win over York. The game had barely begun when Wright scored an unassisted goal in the fifth minute of the contest. The victory helped Baruch (5-5-3; 5-0-2) remain undefeated and in first place in league play. It also game York its second conference defeat.
Against CSI, Wright notched seven shots, but could not find the back of the net.
