Melinda Santiago earns the Rookie of the Week title for the second time this season for her efforts in pushing Baruch to a 3-1 week. Baruch beat Staten Island 3-1, US Merchant Marine Academy 3-1 and Simmons (Mass.) 3-1 before losing to Ramapo in five.
As a setter, she continuously set up her teammates for kills, averaging 8.9 assists per game. Against CSI, she assisted on 36 kills, while adding five digs and a pair of aces. Against USMMA, she had 43 assists with eleven digs and three aces, then returned against Simmons to set 35 kills with seven digs and three aces. Finally, against Ramapo, she had 38 assists in five games.
