A familiar face earns Player of the Week honors this week, as Hunter’s Evgeniya Kim claims the title. Kim won three singles and three doubles matches last week as the Hawks (7-0, 6-0 CUNYAC) went 4-0. Kim played exclusively at first singles and first doubles.
Against Brooklyn College, Kim defeated last week’s Player of the Week Ruth Reyes 6-0, 6-0 in singles, then teamed with Ericka Jaramillo to beat Reyes and Olexandra Ovsiy 8-5. Kim was not challenged against Nedgar Evers, winning in straight sets. Against St. Joseph’s, Kim won 6-1, 6-1 against Danielle Rufrano in singles and 8-2 in doubles. Kim paired with Stefanie Smith to beat Rufrano and Terri Leonard.
