Hot shooting helped Amil John claim this week’s Rookie of the Week, as he connected on 14 of his 18 shots for Brooklyn College. He averaged 10.7 points per game as Brooklyn (10-3, 4-0 CUNYAC North) defeated Stevenson (Md.) 78-77, City Tech 92-62 and Medgar Evers 88-65.
Against the visiting Mustangs of Stevenson, John was good on all four shot attempts, good for eight points. He added a pair of rebounds and an assist. Against City Tech, ten points were the result of four-of-six shooting from the field. He also contributed five steals, two rebounds and two assists. Finally, at Medgar Evers, the hot shooting continued, as he connected on six of his eight shots for 14 points, to go along with five steals.
Brooklyn is in the midst of a six game road trip, and will head to John Jay on Wednesday and Hunter on Friday.
