Kim elevated her game to unprecedented heights this past week, going 7-2 overall (4-1 singles) and advancing to the quarterfinals in both singles and doubles play at the prestigious Wilson/ITA Northeast Regional Championships in Geneva, N.Y. After starting the week with a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 1 singles against Baruch's Monika Maiellano to help the Hawks to a 5-4 victory over the Bearcats, she won her first three matches in the 64-person singles field in her first-ever ITA appearance before falling to Brockport's Lindsay Willeford; both of her sets in the latter match went to tiebreakers.
