The second baseman went on a tear last week in the three-game sweep of CUNYAC opponent Staten Island. The Cranston, Rhode Island native reached base in 11 out of his 14 plate appearances, going 9-for-12 with a pair of walks against the Dolphins. The senior also scored eight runs and knocked in four more teammates. Mitchell needed all four of his runs scored in game two of the series, a 9-8 extra-inning squeaker. The Cranston East graduate, who was also a part of five defensive double plays, raised his average to .292 on the season.
