Matt Soja, a junior on the Baruch men's cross country team, has been named the CUNYAC Student-Athlete of the Month for September.

Soja won all three of his cross country meets (Baruch, York, Queensborough) during the month of the September. The three consecutive first place finishes is a Baruch team record.  Last year, he finished second overall at the CUNYAC Championships at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx.

"I am happy to receive such a great recognition award from the CUNY Athletic Conference," said Soja, a native of Clifton, New Jersey. "We have a great team that is only in its first season as a varsity sport, so to win this is special. I want to thank my team and coaches for all their support."

Matt, who moved to the U.S.A. from Poland at the age of 13, owns a 3.95 GPA as an Economics major in Baruch's highly reputable Zicklin School of Business.
