Ryan Layman, a member of the College of Staten Island men's soccer team, completed an outstanding four-year career with the Dolphins. The Staten Island native played in 71 games, the most among all active players on the 2019 roster, lending most of his time on the defensive line and in the defensive midfield. In addition to his defensive prowess, he tallied three career goals and four career assists on just 13 shot attempts, as CSI went 25-5-2 against CUNYAC opposition over that time.
This year, Layman earned First Team CUNYAC All-Star laurels for a second straight season. He played in 15 games against NCAA DII and DIII competition, as CSI went 10-5-1 overall and won its final four contests, capped off by a win over DII Felician.
