Mohamed Sayibou, a member of the Bronx Community College men's soccer team, is very involved, holding a fellowship position in the CUNY Research Scholars Program. A native of Lome, Toga, Africa, his project focuses on Geographical Survey and Analysis of Subsurface, working with Dr. Sheldon Skaggs from the Chemistry, Earth and Environmental Sciences Department.
In addition, Sayibou was part of BCC's Inter Organizational Council (I.O.C), which provides representation and advocacy for all student clubs and college-wide organizations. He was the I.O.C representative of BCC's Muslim Student Association Club in the Fall. Last Spring, the sophomore attended the 24th Annual John A. Gibbs Conference on environmental issues at Medgar Evers College, and also attended the BEYA (Black Engineer of the Year Award) STEM Global Competitiveness Conference in Washington, D.C.
Off campus, Sayibou is a member of the Zongo-Togo/USA Association in the Bronx, an organization with the goal of helping families either financially or with food provisions.
On the pitch, Sayibou played along the back line for the Broncos, appearing in 14 games with seven starts.
