Staten Island’s Nick Levintov has been named the Hospital For Special Surgery Student-Athlete of the month for February.  A biology major who is interested in pursuing dental surgery, Nick maintains a 3.51 grade point average.

"I am very appreciative of this award. It shall definitely be a motivation for my success in the future."

Levintov broke both a CSI record and CUNY Championship record with a time of 57.59 in the 100 backstroke. He also placed third in the 200 Individual Medley (2:11.46) and sixth in the 200 Breastroke (1:08.41).

"I balance athletics and academics through my passion for the sport and my desire to succeed. I make time to study but make sure I get to practice on time and work as hard as I can in both fields to be successful. I believe I have the potential to be a better swimmer and improve in my studies in class. "My favorite expression would be 'self-motivation', because if you are able to push yourself to the limit, then all your goals will be accomplished."
