Damian Bellamy has been named the CUNYAC/ARMY ROTC Men’s Basketball Rookie of the Week for the week of 1/30-2/6. The South Carolina native had two monster games for the Lightning to push their winning streak to six. He posted back to back double doubles in a pair of victories. Against Baruch the Kinstree HS graduate scored 20 while grabbing 17 rebounds; 11 on the offensive end. Two days later in a non-conference victory over Purchase he scored 21 points while grabbing 15 rebounds. On the week he shot 18-33 (.545) while averaging 20.5 points and 16 rebounds per game.
