Melissa Paredes has been named the CUNYAC/Army ROTC Women's Rookie of the Week for the third consecutive week. The first year runner continued her brilliant rookie season at the CTC Championships, placing fourth in both the women's 1500 meter relay (5:02.41) and the 5000 meter run (21:13.06). Paredes also took fifth in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:28.47. Finally, Paredes ran a leg of the 4 x 400 meter relay team, joined by juniors Saravia, Haynes, and freshman Gibbons, coming in with a time of 4:18.65. At the USMMA Invite, Paredes came in third in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:02.32. Paredes also clocked a 1:13.91 in the 400 meter hurdles and ran a leg of the 4 x 400 meter relay team, which had a time of 4:58.98. Paredes was joined by junior Katiuska Sosa and freshmen Cathenia Murray and Cassie Gibbons.
