Gary Anderson Jr has been named the CUNYAC/Shleppers Men's Volleyball Rookie of the Week from the first game until 1/25. The freshman started his collegiate career off impressively by totaling 98 assists, 30 digs, and nine block assists while playing only 12 sets. The Bellmore native notched a double-double to start his career with 28 assists and 12 digs against Thiel College. He followed that up with 40 assists and 12 digs during a five-set thriller versus #1 Juniata. The JFK high school product finished the week with 30 assists and six digs during a 3-0 victory over Hilbert. In each of the contests, he assisted on three blocks.
