CUNYAC/US Army Men's Cross Country Performer of the Week

Christian Rojas has been named the CUNYAC/US Army Men's Cross Country Performer of the Week for the week of 9/15-9/21.  Rojas  won this award for a second straight week.  The senior led the Hawks with a 4th place finish at the Bard Invitational.  He posted a time of 25:30, in a 173 person field.

Liam McMunn, Staten Island
Freshman/Staten Island, NY/Susan Wagner

Liam McMunn has been named the CUNYAC/US Army Men's Cross Country Rookie of the Week for the week of 9/15-9/21.  McMunn ran his best race of the season and shattered the old CSI’s 8k record with a time of 27:31.  The Staten Island native posted CSI’s best time of the season, while placing first on the team.

Staten Island Dolphins

CSI placed 7th of 20 teams at the Bard invite. Next week they participate in their own Invitational at Clove Lakes Park in Staten Island.

Lehman Lightning

The Lehman College cross country team headed north to the Bard College Invitational on Saturday afternoon, with Lehman placing 14th. Sophomore John Pollina finished sixth over at the Bard College Invitational on Saturday. In the 8K course, he finished in 25:46. This week, Lehman competes in the CSI meet on Sunday, held at Clove Lakes Park on Staten Island.

Baruch Bearcats

The Bearcats traveled this weekend up to the Bard Invitational. The team finished in 10th place and slowly improve every week. They will be off next week and will return to action on October 4 at NJIT Invitational in Newark, New Jersey.

CCNY Beavers

CCNY participated in the Third Annual Roadrunner Invitational hosted by Ramapo College on Saturday, coming in fifth place.

Hunter Hawks

The Hawks had another strong weekend this time at the Bard Invitational. The men were able to get three runners in the top-50, Christian Rojas (4th), Walter Rodriguez (36th) and Mark Carles (41). This weekend the Hawks will travel to Philadelphia to participate in the Philadelphia Metro Championships.

Brooklyn Bulldogs

The Brooklyn College Men's Cross Country team competed at the 2014 Bard College Invitational this past weekend. Michael Tenebruso, Brandon Wagner, Isaac Alvarez, Anthony Myers and Muhammad Assad all scored for BC. The Bulldogs will next compete at the College of Staten Island Invitational on September 28th.

York Cardinals


John Jay Bloodhounds

The men's team finished ninth of the 20 scoring teams (five or more runners), and third among CUNY Athletic Conference colleges. James Buckley and Kaitlin Hicks once again turned in podium finishes. Buckley finished ninth overall in a blazing 26:27 for the 8-kilometer course, while Hicks ran her first-ever sub-20 minute 5K, in a time of 19:24 that was good for 19th place.
