CUNYAC/US Army Women's Cross Country Performer of the Week
Deborah Ramirez, Hunter
Sophomore/Woodhaven, NY/St. Francis Prep
Deborah Ramirez has been named the CUNYAC/US Army Women's Cross Country Performer of the Week for the week of 9/15-9/21. The sophomore was outstanding in pacing the Hawks at last weekends Bard Invitational. She finished in 9th place in the 177 person 5k field. The Woodhaven native ran the race in 18:56.
CUNYAC/US Army Women's Cross Country Rookie of the Week
Norma Santos, Hunter
Freshmen/New York, NY/GED
Norma Santos has been named the CUNYAC/US Army Women's Cross Country Rookie of the Week for the week of 9/15-9/21. The freshman raced well in her first Cross Country race of the season finishing in 21st place with a time of 19:27 at the Bard Invitational. Santos was one of the two runners that finished in the top-25 for the Hawks.

Staten Island Dolphins
CSI did not place as a team this week. They race for their own 5k Invitational at Clove Lakes Park this weekend.
Lehman Lightning
The Lehman College cross country team headed north to the Bard College Invitational on Saturday afternoon, with Lehman placing 14th. Thamare Rejouis led the Lightning with a 53rd place finish, with a time of 21:26. Monica Flores was the second Lehman finisher, in 74th place, finishing in 22:35, while sophomore Kelsy Camilo placed 79th, in 23:28. This week, Lehman competes in the CSI meet on Sunday, held at Clove Lakes Park on Staten Island.
York Cardinals
York hosted the 2014 York College Invitational this past Sunday September 21st. Alana Johnson and Christiana Wallace finished in 13th and 14th place. This coming Sunday, September 28th, the Cardinals will be taking part in the College of Staten Island Invitational.
Baruch Bearcats
The women's cross country team ran a full team and finished fourth at the York Invitational. The Bearcats were the highest finishing CUNYAC team at the York meet. Maria Gronau, the 2013 CUNYAC Rookie of the Year, and Lina Cruz, the 2014 CUNYAC Preseason Runner of the Year, finished Top 10 at the York race.
CCNY Beavers
CCNY came in eighth place at the Third Annual Roadrunner Invitational hosted by Ramapo College.
Hunter Hawks
The Hawks were outstanding at the Bard Invitational with Debbie Ramirez (9th) and Norma Santos (21st) securing top-25 spots. Nicole Lenard (30th) and Mary Leong (49th) were able to secure top-50 spots. This weekend the team will travel to Philadelphia to participate in the Philadelphia Championships.
Brooklyn Bulldogs
The Brooklyn College Women's Cross Country team competed at the 2014 Bard College Invitational this past weekend. Lygia Goulbourne, Arlet Duran, Analy Ramirez, Stavroula Benetatos and Gretchen Vila were the top scoring runners for BC. The Bulldogs will be in action this weekend at the College of Staten Island Invitational.
John Jay Bloodhounds
The women's race produced a 14th-place finish for the Bloodhounds, out of 19 scoring teams, which was good for second place among CUNYAC participants. James Buckley and Kaitlin Hicks once again turned in podium finishes. Buckley finished ninth overall in a blazing 26:27 for the 8-kilometer course, while Hicks ran her first-ever sub-20 minute 5K, in a time of 19:24 that was good for 19th place.
