Amely Del Rosario has been named the CUNYAC/Con Edison Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week for the week of 12/2-12/8. In four games last week for the Lightning, the first year player averaged 22.8 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. Against their lone CUNYAC opponent for the week, Hunter College, the Bronx native scored 33 points and had five steals in a 74-57 win. At the Gallaudet Holiday Tournament, the freshman netted 18 points and grabbed five rebounds against Gallaudet and then had 24 points, six rebounds, and five assists against Trinity. After her outstanding performance at the tournament, Del Rosario was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player.
