Scott Standring has been named the CUNYAC/Con Edison Men's Volleyball Rookie of the Week for the week of 3/18 – 3/24. The setter averaged nine assists, 0.36 kills, 0.79 aces, 2.29 digs, and 0.50 blocks per set in 14 sets played. In a match against Medgar, the freshman notched five aces and followed this performance against CUNYAC rival Brooklyn, tallying 24 assists and four digs in a three-set victory. Against Division I Sacred Heart, the California native picked up 32 assists and four blocks. In the final match against #13 Elmira, Standring recorded 45 assists and a career-high 24 digs in a five-set thriller. For the week, he totaled 126 assists and 32 digs. This is the fifth time Standring has won this award during the 2013 season.
