Kristina Shcherban has been named the CUNYAC/Applebee’s Female Athlete of the Week for the week of 1/7-1/13. This makes it the second week in a row that the sophomore has been awarded this honor. In two games the forward scored double digit points in each of them. In the Caimans win over Orange Community College, Shcherban netted 13 points. In their following victory over Rockland, the Russian native bucketed 10 points while grabbing eight rebounds and dishing out two assists. The sophomore’s continuous outstanding play has brought Hostos to a 4-3 record in conference play.
