Tony Vails has been named the CUNYAC/Con Edison Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the week of 12/3 – 12/9 after extending his streak of 20+ points to nine games. The senior averaged 24 points, 4.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists and three steals for the Cardinals. In the 69-64 win over William Patterson, the Brooklyn native netted 25 points while recording four rebounds, six assists and four steals. The guard shot an impressive 71% from behind the arc, shooting 5-7. For the week, Vails went 15-28 from the field and 11-14 from the free-throw line. His performances contributed to York’s two wins this week and improved their season’s record to 5-4. This is the second time Vails has won this award for the 2012-2013 season.
