John Jay College freshman, Bassel Ahmad, was announced the first CUNYAC/US Army Men's Cross Country Rookie of the Week for the 2012 season. Ahmad ran in the Baruch Invitational at Van Cortlandt Park last week where 11 other teams competed. He ran with a time of 30:15 and placed fifth overall of 81 runners. The freshman placed third amongst CUNY participants and as a result, John Jay placed 4th amongst 11 teams and 1st among the other CUNY schools.
