Jessica Wu has been named the CUNYAC/Metro PCS Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week for the first time of the 2012 season. Last year, Wu accumulated one Player of the Week award and seven Rookie of the Week awards including five straight to finish out the season. Over the 14 sets this week, the sensational sophomore racked up 39 kills with a .341 hitting percentage to go along with 33 digs, six serving aces, and an outstanding .978 receiving percentage. She began her week against Western Connecticut with 18 kills and 14 digs. Following that performance, she played NYU-Poly. In the contest she had 11 kills with an outstanding .688 hitting percentage and 10 digs as the Bearcats won 3-0. On Saturday, she competed against conference opponents York and Brooklyn. Versus York, Wu compiled five kills, two serving aces and six digs as Baruch triumphed 3-0. A short time later, she compiled five more kills, another serving ace, and an additional three digs as the Bearcats defeated Brooklyn 3-0.
