Kevin Flores earns his first men’s outdoor track and field rookie of the week award after finishing fifth in the decathlon at the CTC Championships. Flores started the decathlon finishing fifth in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12:26 as he went on to finish third in the next event which was the 400 meter dash (55.08). In the following event the 1500 meter dash, the freshman finished 2nd with a time of 5:11.13. He then finished 7th in the 110 Hurdles (20.60), tied for 4th in the high jump (1.68m), 8th in long jump (5.16m), 6th in the shot put (7.72m) 8th in the discus (14.01m) and 5th in the Javelin (28.00m). Flores finished the event with 3,761 points placing him fifth out of the nine competitors.
