For the second straight week Christopher Newcomb earns recognition as the top volleyball player of the week after helping #11 Hunter to a 3-0 week, including a big 3-2 upset over #6 Stevens Tech. Newcomb tallied 42 kills on .289 attacking while adding six blocks and two service aces in the week. In the Hawks 3-0 victory over conference opponents John Jay College, the senior managed 12 kills on .733 attacking before tallying eight against SUNYIT on .333 attacking. The outside hitter saved his best for last in the week, recording a season-high of 22 kills in a 3-2 win over Stevens Tech. Next up for Newcomb and the Hawks is the start of the CUNYAC/Con Edison Volleyball tournament with the quarterfinals starting April 10 at 6pm.
