Austin Kapetanakis earns the men’s tennis rookie honor of the week after winning every one of his matches and not dropping a set while doing so. Kapetanakis along with teammate and doubles partner Riad Hamai were the only two Dolphins’ players that did not drop a set in their victories for the week. Starting the week against St. Joseph’s Brooklyn, he and Hamai playing at second doubles defeated Ken Kadar and Brian Hicks, 8-6. The freshman playing at number six singles followed with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Ralph Gallo, giving the Dolphin’s the 6-3 win. In the 8-1 victory over conference opponents Brooklyn College, Kapetanakis continued with partner Hamai with an 8-4 win over Matthew Micharlsen and Cheyne Tribbey. Then at number four singles the rookie went on to beat his opponent Marvin Gill 6-3, 6-3.
