James Marty had four first place finishes and a second place finish in the five events he swam in Brooklyn’s 1-1 week. The rookie had a first place finish in the 100-yard backstroke (1:13.37) and a second place finish in the 200 yard freestyle relay (1:56.18) in the loss against Purchase College (Jan. 26). In the win against Sarah Lawrence (Jan. 27) the Bayside alum had three first place finishes. In the 200-yard medley relay Marty had a time of 2:12.55. He went on to place to finish the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:26.46 and the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:15.09. The Bulldog’s men’s swimming and diving team will compete next in the CUNYAC/Applebee’s Championship starting Thursday, February 2nd at Lehman College.
