Following the holiday break, Jerome Alexander has been named this week’s top player of the week after averaging 35.0 points, 3.5 assists and 2.5 rebounds after John Jay’s 2-1 week. In the Bloodhounds’ 74-61 win over Yeshiva (Dec. 27) Alexander shot .529 from the field (9-for-17), totaling 28 points that game with four assists and three rebounds. In John Jay’s second win of the week the senior scored an impressive 42 points before having to leave the game due to injury. The Elmont alum shot 14-for-21 on the field and 4-for-5 from three point range while also registering three assists, three steals and two rebounds in the win against Frostburg Stage (Dec. 29).
