Freshman George Martinez earns his second rookie of the week nod following the Bearcats’ tri meet competition against Division II level opponents Queens College and Adelphi University. Baruch had split victories this week gaining a win against Queens but falling short against Adelphi. The rookie from Flushing, NY started the race with a second place finish in the 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 11:00.38. Martinez then went on to place first against Adelphi in the 500 yard freestyle but second against Queens with a time of 5:13.01. Despite the split victories in this event, the Brooklyn Tech alum broke his own Baruch Freshman Record. Baruch is set to return to action on January 6 to face off against conference rivals Hunter College.
