One of Vladislav Romanov’s finest performances of the season took place this past weekend in the ECAC Division III Open Championships where the Dolphins finished in sixth place. The Russian native led his team with a 1.49 97 first place finish in the 200 yard backstroke which not only broke his own record of 1.50.09 but the ECAC record and the senior wasn’t done there. Romanov went on to set a new ECAC record with a time of 49.83 in the 100 yard backstroke event. These first place finishes qualify Romanov for the nationals set in March. He also posted a new personal best in the 200 individual medley with a time of 1.53.85 and a B-cut qualifier for Nationals. Along with his three other teammates, Romanov continued to set new ECAC records and B-cut qualifier’s for Nationals with a first place finish in the 200 medley relay (1.38.77), second place in the 200 free relay (1.27.73) and a first place finish in the 400 medley relay (3.23.73).
