Kristen Markoe earns her first player of the week award following Hunter’s 2-0 conference victories this past week. The Staten Island sophomore had a team high total of 37 points and 21 rebounds last week, as well as 7 assists. In their CUNYAC opener against John Jay, the forward led her team with a season high of 23 points, shooting 7 for 15 on the field, .500 in 3 point range and going 6 for 10 in free throws. She also added 8 rebounds to her total and two steals in the 79-62 victory over the Bloodhounds (Nov. 29). In the Hawks’ homecoming and second conference game of the week Markoe netted 14 points, hitting 6 for 6 in free throws and .400 shooting percentage on the field with 14 boards to win over Lehman 62-53 (Dec. 2).
