Freshman George Martinez proved that he can compete with some of the best swimmers with a first place finish in the 500-yard Freestyle with a time of 5:29.89 against Division I Manhattan College last week. The Brooklyn Tech alum also finished third in the 1,000-yard Freestyle with a time of 11:19.20 and teamed up with his fellow Bearcats to finish the 200-yard Medley Relay in a time of 1:57.37. The Baruch swim squad is set to face off against the top in the country at the ECAC Swimming Championships at Nassau County Aquatic Center December 2-4, 2011.
