Brooklyn College senior Benjamin Ireland has been named the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC)/US Army Men’s Cross Country Rookie of the Week, for the week ending October 16th.
Last Sunday, at the 2011 York College 8K Invitational held at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx, NY, Ireland was the first BC runner to the cross the finish line with a personal best time of 29:58, good for a sixth place individual finish in the field of 102 runners.
The Bulldogs would go on to post a sixth place team finish out of 12 competing schools.
For Ireland, this marks the third time this season that he has garnered CUNYAC Rookie of the Week honors.
