Younes Benzaid burst onto the CUNY Athletic Conference scene last spring, as a member of Coach Chris Olmetchenko’s outdoor track & field team and ended up as the runner-up at the NJCAA National Championships in the 1,500 meter run. Now in his first cross country season for the Tigers, he’s picking up where he left off last year. At the Hunter College Developmental meet last Sunday at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx, he took second place overall with a 16:40 5,000 Meter (5K) time in a 146-runner field. As a team, QCC finished in fourth place among 17 complete teams.
