Hunter College junior Lizzy Mahoney finished in 19:25, 1:04 ahead of the competition en route to claiming first place at the Hunter Development Meet in a field of 128 runners on the 5K course at Van Cortlandt Park to be named CUNYAC/US Army Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week. Mahoney, a two-time CUNY Athletic Conference individual champion, helped guide the Hunter women to a first place team finish among the 17 teams competing last weekend with 56 points. Both Hunter’s men’s and women’s teams return to action on October 1st, when they travel to Newburgh, NY to compete in the Mount St. Mary's Invite.
