Omar Griffin, the 2010 CUNYAC Rookie of the Year, begins his 2011 season by earning the first CUNYAC Runner of the Week Award. Griffin and Baruch began their schedule on September 3 at the 6K Vassar Invitational in Poughkeepsie, New York. The sophomore from Brooklyn finished in 26th place with a time of 22:03. He followed up next weekend on September 11 by finishing in sixth place at the 8K Baruch Invitational with a time of 29:38 as the third-best Divison III male runner at Van Cortlandt Park. The Bearcats will be back in the Bronx next Sunday at the Queensborough Community College Invitational.
