The CUNY Athletic Conference announced today that junior Lizzy Mahoney has been named Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week. The two-time CUNYAC Senior College Champion from Auburn, NY took first place at the Purchase College 5K Invitational this past Saturday. She posted a time of 20:47.34, winning the race by a 64 second margin. It is Mahoney's second CUNYAC Cross Country Runner of the Week accolade, having been previously named in the second last week of the 2010 season when she posted the third highest 6k time for the season (25.33.00). She was also a four-time recipient of the CUNYAC Rookie Runner of the Week Award in the 2009 season. The Hawks Cross Country Teams will next compete in the Bard College Invite on September 17th.
