New Dorp High School product Demi-Jean Martorano seemed to pick up right where she left off in 2010, following up her CUNYAC Rookie of the Year effort by pouring in a trio of second half goals to power CSI to a 5-1 win over NYU-Poly in the Dolphins’ lone contest last week. After a busy first half playing center-midfield, Martorano opened up the floodgates in the second stanza with her natural hat trick. The sophomore raced in from the left side on a 30-yard run to bury a shot inside the goal mouth to give CSI a 3-0 lead just over five minutes into the frame, and added another eight minutes later striking down a Natalie Tombasco cross. To add a punctuation mark, Martorano bended a corner kick into the far side for a goal with just 7:05 left in the game. Just 17 games into her college career, Martorano is ranked 7th all-time at CSI with 19 career goals.
