For the second time this season, Brooklyn College freshman shortstop Allison Donovan has been named CUNYAC Rookie of the Week, for the week ending April 17th, as the Bulldogs went 4-0 during the period.
During Brooklyn's four games last week, which saw the Bulldogs sweep both Lehman College and Sarah Lawrence College, Donovan batted a solid .538 (7-for-13) with two doubles and two homeruns, to go along with six RBI and four runs scored. She also posted a .538 on base and an outstanding 1.154 slugging percentage. Donovan had her best performance of the week against CUNYAC rival Lehman on April 14th, as the Middle Village, NY native went a combined 4-for-7 (.571) at the plate in the doubleheader, to go with five RBI, two runs scored, a double and a homerun.
Donovan's three-run homerun in the top of the third inning sparked a five-run rally, which helped put the game away for BC, as Brooklyn would go on to cruise to the 12-0 victory over Lehman in game one of the twinbill.
