Senior all-star Raymie Fernandez was terrific in a weekend series with Lehman, as the Beavers won two of the three games. In game one, the New York, NY native finished the game 2-for-4 at the dish with a homerun, a run scored, and three runs batted in. In the nightcap, he paced CCNY’s 11-3 victory with a homerun, a double, three runs scored, three runs batted in, and a stolen base.
The following day, Fernandez finished 1-for-3 with a double, a run scored, a run batted in, and a stolen base. Following the announcement of Fernandez as CUNY’s Player of the Week, head coach Grant Neary gave his thoughts.
Fernandez currently leads the Beavers with a .325 batting average, while also topping all CCNY players with 39 total bases, eight doubles, and a .506 slugging percentage. He also boasts an on-base percentage of .442, and he also has 17 runs batted in, a pair of homeruns, and 25 hits.
