John Jay senior Wilmer Chavez batted .435 for the six games the Bloodhounds played last week. But it was his performances against Lehman over the weekend that he will remember forever. In a conference doubleheader sweep over Lehman on Saturday, Chavez was 6-8 (.750) with four runs and eight runs batted in. Then on Sunday versus the Lightning, he pitched a complete game, getting a non-conference victory throwing nine innings, yielding nine hits, three runs (all earned) and striking out seven. For the week, he had an outstanding 17 runs batted in on a 3-3 week, as the Bloodhounds are back in the pack in the baseball standings (3-3) with three weeks left in the regular season.
