A freshman hurler from Southern California, Angelica Iacovetti is looking to make an immediate impact on the East Coast. In her first three collegiate appearances, she went 1-0 with a save as the Hawks went 2-1-1 on the week. The Imperial Beach, CA native picked up the win first, a 3-2 win over New Jersey City, giving up only four hits, two runs, while striking out seven in a seven-inning complete game. In the second game of the NJCU doubleheader, she came in for a 1.2 inning save, collecting four strikeouts.
Iacovetti closed out the week with a no decision in a 6-6 tie (called for darkness after eight innings) against Mount St. Mary, giving up nine hits, six runs (only one earned) and fanned 13 batters. She also walked only two and holds a 1.08 earned run average so far this season.
