Braylin Perez made two starts for the Bloodhounds last week, going the distance in a 2-1 win over USMMA-Kings Point, earning the freshman from the Domincan Republic his first collegiate victory. In his nine innings, Perez struck out five batters, walked only two and scattered four hits. Four days later, he took the loss (6-4) against CUNYAC associate member for baseball Yeshiva University, giving up nine hits and five runs in five innings of work; he also struck out eight in the process. On the year, he leads John Jay in ERA and strikouts.
