The defending champion Dolphins head into Conference play this week riding a three-game winning streak following a 1-5 start to the 2011 season. Sophomore catcher Bryan Moreno was a big part in two of those victories for head coach Mike Mauro's squad. Against New Paltz, he led off for the Dolphins and went 1-4 with a two-RBI double in the second inning to make the score 3-1 (CSI would eventually win 6-3).
Last weekend, Moneno, a second-year backstop from Staten Island, NY, had a monster game, against St. Joseph's (Brooklyn) going 4-4 with three runs batted in and three runs scored. He actually reached base on all five of his plate appearances, including getting hit by a pitch. Moreover, Moreno knocked in his three runs on three different occasions, collecting RBI singles twice and a double once. On the year, he's batting .346 for CSI.
