Aydar Suleymanov wins the first CUNYAC Player of the Week honor after leading the Bearcats to a 3-0 start with victories over City Tech (9-0), Brooklyn (9-0) and Rutgers-Newark (9-0). Suleymanov, a transfer from Kingsborough CC, was the NJCAA Division III National Champion in first singles for the Wave last season. In his senior college debut, the junior from Ulfa, Russia, won all three of his singles contest, which included a hard fought 6-4, 6-4 victory against #1 singles Anthony Chan of Brooklyn. In doubles, he also won all three contests, teaming with Lukas Bircic to defeat the #1 doubles tandem from Rutgers-Newark (Raymond Postadan/Rob Ramirez) by the score of 8-3.
