Shala paced the Lightning to a pair of dual-meet victories last week, including an 82-70 CUNYAC triumph over York (Jan. 18) in which he paced the field in both the 100 (1:01.78) and 1,000 (13:12.92) yard freestyle events. In a non-conference meet against Old Westbury (Jan. 22), Shala took home first place in the 1,000 Free (13:24.72) while swimming to a time of 2:26.66 in the 200 IM, and 1:06.72 in the 100 Free.
