MATTHEW AGARD, Kingsborough Community College
Men’s Indoor Track & Field
A 2010 All-American, who did not run last year, he ran the anchor leg on KCC’s silver medal 4x800 Meter Relay at NJCAA Outdoor Nationals for his second honor.
TOBI ALLI, Lehman College
Women’s Indoor Track & Field
The CUNYAC Championship Indoor MVP finished 7th in the 60 Meter Dash (7.71) at the 2012 NCAA Indoor Championships in March. She also won the CUNYAC Championship Outdoor MVP and competed in two events at the NCAA Outdoor Championship on Memorial Day weekend.
ASHLEY ARMAND, Bronx Community College
^ Women’s Cross Country/Outdoor Track & Field
Armand, the two-time CUNYAC Champion and NJCAA National Runner-up in Cross Country was injured at the end of her freshman season and was determined to see 2012, her sophomore season to it’s conclusion. At the Nationals, she was the best middle distance runner in the country, winning the 800 Meter and the 1,500 Meter (4:52.15) races, just missing out on Most Outstanding Performer of the meet. Her winning time of 2:17.13 in the 800 Meters, absolutely crushed the standing NJCAA Championship record (2:18.57), set by fellow Bronco, Claudette Hetmeyer in 2009.
YOUNES BENZAID, Queensborough Community College
Men’s Cross Country/Outdoor Track & Field
Last Spring, Benzaid earned his way on this list as the National Runner-Up last year in the 1,500 Meters. Then in the fall, he became a second Team All-American with a top ten finish at the NJCAA Cross Country Championship. Earlier this month at the NJCAA Outdoor Championships, he took home the silver medal once again, coming in at 4:00.05. He also ran the final of the 800 Meters later on in the event, managing a sixth place finish.
CLAUDE BLUE, Bronx Community College
Men’s Basketball
The 2010-11 CUNYAC Tournament MVP, Rookie of the Year, All-Region XV and National All-Tournament Team member became a Third Team NJCAA All-American, after leading the Broncos to the NJCAA Final Four. He ranked fifth in the NJCAA Division III in field goal percentage (61%), 17th in the NJCAA Division III with 11.3 rebounds, tenth in blocks (2.9) and second in CUNYAC with 17.7 ppg.
KESTER CHASE, Kingsborough Community College
Men’s Indoor Track & Field
Became the National Runner-Up in the Triple Jump (13.69 meters) at NJCAA’s. Also ran on the third-place 4x100 Meter Relay, and is a starting guard on the KCC basketball team.
ADDISHIA DIXON, Kingsborough Community College
Women’s Indoor Track & Field
A first-year runner, she excelled in the two hurdle events, getting third in the 400 Meters and 2nd place and a All-American nod in the 100 Meter event (16.14).
WINSTON DOUGLAS, Medgar Evers College
Men’s Basketball
The 2010-11 CUNYAC Tournament MVP and CUNYAC Player of the Year was recognized as a Third Team NABC All-American, ranked in NCAA top five in rebounds, while scoring over 18 points a game for the Cougars. (18.3) and standing fourth in the NCAA in rebounds (13.0), He was also second in double-doubles with 21 in 29 games and stands 30th in the National ranks at 2.10 per contest.

A two-time CUNYAC Champion in the 50 and 100 Freestyle, winning both races in each of her two seasons, She earned a fifth place finish at the NJCAA Champs in the 50 Yard Freestyle for her first national citation.

Leaped his way to the National Championship in the Men’s Triple Jump with a fantastic leap of 14.10 meters in his first season for the Broncos.

She placed fourth at the 2011 NJCAA Championships, for a 1st Team honor. Also Earned status with a silver medal performance in the 800 Meters at the NJCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships. A four-time All-American.

A newcomer to the Tigers’ track team, Kassim ran the final leg of the Men’s 4x100 Meter Relay, finishing with a second place showing in 43.00 flat.
CHRISTOPHER NEWCOMB, Hunter College

The CUNYAC Player of the Year, led the Hawks to Regular Season title, as Hunter went to the NCAA Men's Volleyball Final Four. Named to the AVCA First team after ranks in the top-15 in hitting percentage. Even won AVCA National Player of the Week once this season.
DANILA NOVIKOV, College of Staten Island
Men’s Swimming & Diving
Took the NCAA bronze medal in the 200-yard Individual Medley, for the second straight year, shattering a CSI record in process. He is now a 3-time All-American and a three-time Honorable Mention in only two seasons for the Dolphins.
YEVGENY PEREPELOV, Hunter College
Men’s Tennis
A former CUNYAC Player of the Year, led Hunter to CUNYAC titles in 2010 and 2011, earned his first All-American nod after winning the 2011 USTA/ITA Northeast Regional Singles Championship last fall. He posted an 8-0 overall mark in singles this spring.

Another sprinter who earned his first All-American status on QCC’s 4x100 Meter Relay team that won the silver medal.

A gold medalist last year on Kingsborough’s 4x400 Relay team, proved his versatility this year on the third place 4x100 Relay and scored second place on KCC’s 4x800 Meter Relay squad.
SABRINA RODRIGUEZ, Queensborough Community College

Named as a Third Team NJCAA All-American, Rodriguez was a CUNYAC All-Star, as her Tigers captured the Regular Season title. She was undoubtedly the most well-rounded player in the Region, averaging 17.6 points, 4.7 assists, 5.9 rebounds and 5.5 steals and 1.3 blocks per game.
VLADISLAV ROMANOV, College of Staten Island
Men’s Swimming & Diving
Captured his first-ever NCAA medal with a silver in the 200-yard Backstroke. Also earned All-American honors in the 100 Backstroke. Finished his stellar CSI career with an astounding three All-American awards and six honorable mention nods.
MOMODOU SAWANEH, Queensborough Community College
Men’s Soccer/Outdoor Track & Field
The 2011 CUNYAC Tournament MVP, a midfielder and team captain was named to the NJCAA All-American First Team in soccer in the fall and with his teammates, the QCC quartet finished second in the 4x100 Meter Relay at the NJCAA Outdoor Championships, where he also had a third place finish in in the 200 Meter Dash (22.53) for an honorable mention nod.
JASMINE SPRINGER, Lehman College

At the 2012 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships in May, she finished fifth in the Women's triple Jump with a leap of 12.07 meters in her first-ever National event.
ROHAN STEWART, Kingsborough Community College

A three-time All-American, Stewart achieved the honor on two relay teams in 2011, (one won a National title) and repeated as National runner-ups in the 4x800 Meter Relay at the NJCAA Championships.

A rookie on QCC’s track team, helped the Tigers earn second place at the NJCAA Outdoor Nationals is the Men’s 4x100 Meter Relay.
ANDREY TARASOV, College of Staten Island

Earned a fifth place finish in the 100-yard Breaststroke at the NCAA’s for his best NCAA individual performance. Only a sophomore, he is also a three-time honorable mention All-American, after going to Nationals twice.

A freshman midfielder for the Panthers, he was named to the NJCAA Second Team, after being named 1st Team All-Region XV last fall.
KERONE WHITE, Kingsborough Community College
Men’s Indoor Track & Field
A middle distance specialist, he helped ride the Wave with the silver in the Men’s 4x800 Meter Relay (8:00.17) for the second consecutive season.
