BAYSIDE, N.Y. (Oct. 20, 2017) - Aiming for its third-straight league title, top-seeded Queensborough Community College is set to host the 2017 CUNYAC/Pepsi Community College Women's Volleyball Championship on Monday.
The tournament, which returns to Bayside for the first time since 2013, features all four teams - No. 1 Queensborough, No. 2 BMCC, No. 3 Kingsborough and No. 4 Bronx.

#1 Queensborough vs. #4 Bronx - 4 p.m.
#2 BMCC vs. #3 Kingsborough - 6 p.m.
Championship Final - 8 p.m.
Semifinal - #1 Queensborough (14-3, 6-0 CUNYAC) vs. #4 Bronx (6-13, 0-6 CUNYAC) - 4 p.m.

Queensborough, which has received votes in the NJCAA Division III National Poll this season, trampled Bronx in a pair of 3-0 victories. The Tigers won by no fewer than six points in every game against the Broncos, including a dominant 25-5 win in the opening set on Oct. 14.
Queensborough is led by five-time CUNYAC Athlete of the Week
Paola Beniquez, who has put down a team-leading 180 kills on a .374 hitting percentage. She has also amassed 195 digs, 58 service aces and 11 blocks in 17 matches.
Meanwhile, Bronx's
Eriadna Vasquez (96 kills) and
Ashley Suarez (93 kills)
have combined for more than half of the Broncos' kill output in 2017. Additionally, Vasquez has recorded 87 blocks, while Suarez has totaled 149 digs and 55 service aces this year.

In 2017, BMCC and Kingsborough battled to a pair of four-set matches, with the Panthers winning both contests. Though the Wave managed to take a set in both tilts, BMCC pulled out the two victories, after hitting at impressive clips of .457 and .538 in the respective matches.
Returning CUNYAC All-Star
Stela Vaso has led the Panthers' offensive attack, notching 110 kills on a .652 attack percentage with 25 service aces.
Sara Lazo ranks second on the team with 95 kills and 43 aces.
Jennifer Chacon has allocated 264 assists, averaging 5.74 helpers per set, and served a team-best 47 aces.
For Kingsborough,
Estrella Bello paced the Wave with eight kills and two blocks in their first meeting with BMCC this year.
Caitlyn Dowd had eight assists, while
Awilda Jaminian collected 14 digs and one service ace.
