FLUSHING, N.Y. (Oct. 18, 2017) - On Wednesday, the City University of New York Athletic Conference and University Student Senate announced its Community College All-Star men's soccer honorees for the 2017 season, as selected by a polling of the league's coaches.

Borough of Manhattan Community College, which just won its second-straight league title on Monday, swept the postseason accolades. Brando Guzman was tabbed as the CUNYAC Player of the Year. Jahvaughnie Johnson earned Rookie of the Year praise. Modou Seck received the nod as Coach of the Year.

Player of the Year - Brando Guzman, Fr, MF, BMCC
Guzman has had a sensational debut campaign for the Panthers, netting 12 goals and adding eight assists for 32 points. He has tallied multiple points in nine of the team's 11 games, four of which were also multi-goal performances. Additionally, Guzman scored four game-winning goals, including the deciding tally in a 3-2 season-opening victory against Queensborough.

Rookie of the Year - Jahvaughnie Johnson, Fr, F/MF, BMCC
Johnson has also shined in his first year at BMCC, amassing a team-leading 14 goals and six assists for 34 points. He has found the back of the net in all but two matches for the Panthers this season and recorded three game-winners in the process. In Monday's CUNYAC final against Queensborough, Johnson scored a pair of goals, en route to being named the championship's Most Valuable Player.

Coach of the Year - Modou Seck, BMCC
In his fifth season patrolling the sidelines, Seck guided the Panthers to their second-consecutive CUNYAC Championship and a No. 7 ranking in the NJCAA Division III Poll. He has also led BMCC to an undefeated 11-0 record, increasing his team's win total for a fifth-straight year.
