Lehman Names Harry Oehler Softball Coach

BRONX, N.Y. – Lehman College Director of Athletics, Dr. Martin L. Zwiren, named Harry R. Oehler head coach of the Lehman College softball program. He will be responsible for coaching and administering all aspects of the program which include recruiting and player development.

"I want to thank Dr. Zwiren for giving me this opportunity," Oehler said. "I am excited to begin my first season at Lehman College and get to know all of our player's abilities. I also look forward to coaching against other programs in the CUNY Athletic Conference."

Oehler recently served as the varsity softball coach of Saint Catharine Academy in the Bronx. During that time, he was responsible for player evaluation, motivational speaking, and player development. He led Saint Catharine Academy to the CHSAA division championship in each of his three years, and reached the finals of the CHSAA Championship-A Division in 2014 and 2015.

He also served as the instructor for the girls' softball program at the Highlander Training Academy, where his main responsibility was player development. He prepared travel team players to succeed at the next level, whether it was in high school or college.

"I am delighted to have a coach of Harry's experience, qualifications, and dedication join the Lehman athletics family of highly qualified coaches and student-athletes," Dr. Zwiren said. "I am very confident that Harry will begin to rebuild our softball program into a successful NCAA Division III and City University of New York Athletic Conference contender."

Oehler resides in the Bronx, N.Y. with his wife Renee, and two sons, Jordan and Jarret.
